"Mystery orange goo" in Alaska is egg mass.

The Alaska village of Kivalini was in the news for a puzzling orange goo that washed up.   Millions of microscopic crustacean eggs, each with an orange fat drop, are the explanation.  What crab-like species is still unknown.  News Daily
