Locking the debt ceiling will start the cure - let go of OPM.

 If politicians will let go of the OPM (other people's money) they are hooked on,
the existing debt ceiling is enough to rein in US spending.  
If the monkey in the cartoon will let go of the banana 
his hand will be free.
