Match.com with 1.8 million subscribers is updating its sorting algorithms. They triangulate their guesses between what you say, what you actually look at, and what similar people look at. If you say "nobody over 26" but have been looking at pictures of older guys, they notice. Their Daily5 personalized email asks for "likes" and the new math resulted in twice as many "likes".
"It's just supply and demand. The same principles work, no matter what kind of numerical problem you're solving."
