Static cling - Trickier than thought.

High School physics explained static cling simply:  Rubbing makes electrons jump between things and stuff clings.          New observations:  After rubbing, jumbled pockets of plus and minus charge develop on both things, some charge jumps between things by electron and some by whole molecules that get brushed off.    As before, there is a net charge transfer and stuff clings.         Linked by Small Dead Animals

When you drill down into a question, black and white explanations turn to color.
