Whistle-blowing councilman
Phoenix, AZ |
Seven unions have staff hired by the City of Phoenix that are paid not to do the jobs they were hired for. They get to work full-time for the union instead, thanks to the small print in contracts. PLEA, the police union, has six full time non-workers. (
Five, according to the PLEA website). What are union dues for anyway? The city bill for this subsidy comes to $3.7 million every year.
