Now the Taliban have to fight their way into the village across minefields to hard-points in the village manned by rested troops.  The valley east of Kandahar is where Mullah Omar got his start but the tables are turning.    The villagers are feeling secure enough to step up to the job of defending themselves from the Taliban too.    Reading Johannes is as important as reading Yon.   Outside the Wire August 2nd.
