Ancient land off Scotland discovered a mile below the seabed. Wonderful graphic.

Oil exploration has revealed a secret landscape with eight river beds off Scotland and Norway.  The whole landscape is buried under more than a mile of mud at the bottom of the North Sea.  Seismic testing and high-powered computers have recreated this hidden wonder by interpreting the echos from deep layers, much as dolphins figure out what cannot be seen by using their ears.  (Link and photo from Mother Nature Network.image of the ancient buried landscape
