Bloggers for the real story, AP for political pabulum.

Over seven hours, the AP news factory transformed a headline beyond recognition. The report last week on the US Consumer Confidence index
" ..went from “falls” to “dips slightly” to “roughly flat” to (brace yourself) a “rosy outlook.” as blogger Blumer reports at Newsbusters.

A lazy or cash-strapped press uses AP to write its news. AP is a union-run charity. (Tax-exempt non profit co-op).  They offer a useful service but don't trust them until the story is blog-tested.
Another big outfit, NBC fake-edited the Zimmerman 911 call to create a racist newsworthy pig.
