.. say the PM is good and Canadians are great. Conservative Americans use stories that praise Canada when it makes them look good and the Democrats and President Obama look bad. It's embarrassing, like watching a hockey contest where everybody supports their home team. I like PM Stephen Harper's words about marketing oil globally without discounts to our neighbours. This story has traction in the US because it gives leverage to those wanting to vote out Obama and flip the senate, not because Americans love and admire him so much.
A popular conclusion:
PM Harper will be remembered as one of our finest prime ministers. Canadians are a great people, the envy of much of the world. The twenty first century will feature Canada as one of the brightest lights.
True, even though it appeals to that home team spirit.
