I'd volunteer to test the experimental Covid-19 vaccines if it might save lives. Now I'm in the no-jab control group.
I"d be first in line if they needed volunteers to test the new messenger RNA vaccines against Covid-19. If it could save lives, I'd step up. That day is past and although I've had lots of vaccinations over the years, this new one is the sticker. It's the sticker because I've read more about it than any other new medicine. The side effects (still underreported) and the long term unforseen consequences alarm me. If the review of recent literature at the link is sound, an auto-immune attack on much of humanity has been seeded by the
mandated jabs
A little group and a big group. |
Now I'm in the control group that have not taken the jabs. This too is an experiment, albeit a painful one since I've lost some of my citizenship in BC, the charter of rights and freedoms no longer is my shield, dining out is history and my summer vacation up one of BC"s fjords is gone.

Dear President Smith and Executive Committee:
VIA EMAIL
Re: Public Health Orders issued on September 13, 2021, requiring healthcare support workers to be vaccinated by October 26, 2021
I am writing to you on behalf of my clients, a large and growing group of healthcare support workers who are members of your union. My clients have retained my services to assist them in understanding the law and in presenting their requests to you for BCGEU’s support and representation against the “vaccine”1 mandate of a ruthless employer, the BC Government and its agencies and contractors.
My clients are not coming to BCGEU as adversaries, nor with the threat of litigation. Rather, they are hopeful that this discussion will result in a renewed solidarity and shared sense of purpose among the BCGEU membership.
My clients include both vaccinated and unvaccinated healthcare support workers, standing together for the right of all members to reject an involuntary, invasive medical procedure. They are not ‘anti-vaxxers’, having all received vaccinations in the past. But they are asserting their legal right personally, and BCGEU’s legal right on behalf of the membership, to refuse injections of experimental medicines known to cause harm.
Farmer's Almanac after 230 years averages as well as our best modern US weather forecasts.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac has been making yearly long-term weather forecasts for 230 years. We pay attention to them because they are normally 80% accurate. They did not do as well last winter but were 72% in predicting the direction of temperature change, and 78% accurate in the change in precipitation. This is pretty remarkable because while the U.S. weather forecasts are 90% accurate five days in advance, they are only 80% accurate seven days out. The Old Farmer’s Almanac forecasts are far less specific, they only predict the direction of change, but their forecasts are for twelve months in the future, quite impressive. From Wattsupwiththat.com and written by Andy May.
It's not based on what the groundhog saw in February. From the start with Robert Thomas in1792, it's been based on solar cycles, blended with temperature records and increasingly incorporating large weather elements that are affected by insolation. Currently several dozen elements are factored in like the El Nino current and the North Atlantic Oscillation.
How to push back against Vaccine passports: Well-written letter from Okanagan physicians to Henry, Dix and Horgan of BC.
Points are addressed systematically with references from the literature.
Open Letter to Dr. Bonnie Henry, Adrian Dix, and Premier John Horgan
We are a group of extremely concerned health professionals in the Okanagan Valley, B.C. We have some critical questions regarding COVID-19, specifically about the current reporting of case numbers, statistics, and testing, and the restrictions imposed by your health orders. While discussion of adjunctive and alternative safe and effective treatments is being stifled, the policies of mandatory experimental vaccines and vaccine passports are being forced upon our province, our country, and many other countries worldwide.
Addressing Dr. Henry, Mr. Dix and Mr. Horgan: We—as healthcare practitioners and citizens—expect and deserve answers that address these concerns directly. Proclaiming that vaccine therapies are “safe and effective” is misleading and sloganistic. The reports of vaccine injuries are increasing every day, yet are being ignored. We are witnessing an increase in Covid illness occurring in fully vaccinated individuals and, irrationally, that is being followed by a promise of mandated boosters.1 The lack of answers and the vague information being provided over the past 18+ months do not instill confidence in British Columbians.
This lack of transparency has resulted in unprecedented divisiveness amongst citizens, families and friends. There are individuals who are angry that some concerned citizens are not complying and are comparing our current circumstances to the Holocaust. While this may seem extreme, the Holocaust also began with the small removal of freedoms2, just as we are seeing today. This historical atrocity started out as a slow and seemingly innocent removal of rights by the government, but quickly morphed into media control, divisiveness between groups of people, and limitations to what one select section of society could do. In this way, the ordinary citizen easily became an enemy of the state. Today a one-sided, politically-driven narrative, which is being fuelled by politicians and the media, is causing a similar divisiveness. When only one side of the story is made available to the public, it is easy to understand how individuals can become disgruntled toward other citizens who are fighting to maintain their freedom and bodily autonomy. A political agenda is clearly being pushed here, and the refusal to address questions and concerns of healthcare practitioners and citizens of B.C. speaks volumes. We hope all of B.C. and Canada will carefully consider the information included in this document and join us in demanding clear, direct and truthful answers.
You must recognize and acknowledge the problems our country faces with our media and with our supposed leaders. We are on a dangerous trajectory and we must STOP —NOW!
Aspirin helpful against Covid
It appears aspirin reduces serious Covid-19 consequences by about 40% (ICU admissions, mechanical ventilators and deaths) and somewhat reduces the chance of even being infected. This is in a new study out of Israel. See link explaining that blood clots could be the result of spike proteins generated from the mRNA of the vaccine and then being expressed in the cells lining blood vessels. The cells are then presumed to be alien and killed by white blood cells, thereby seeding clot material.
We already have defences against Covid-19. The second jab of vaccine will kill some of us.
A soft-spoken doctor (Dr. Bhakdi) makes sense of our body's response to the Covid-19 virus and vaccines. (Ignore the subtitles in the picture. The short talk is in clear English).
Key point: We've seen a similar corona virus before. Against novel infections, we manufacture the antibody type called Immunoglobulin-M which appears in our blood after about 30 days. Against infections that look familiar, we recall into service our existing Immunoglobulin-G and -A antibodies and these appear in our blood about a week later. Three recent papers prove that IgG and IgA responses appear within a few days of a test injection of the vaccine with Covid-19 spikes. The conclusion: We've seen a similar corona virus before. We already have a form of herd immunity but locked away until needed. As the Doctor says, all groups found that all subjects who had been vaccinated responded within days with antibodies.
Key point: When the virus lands in the throat and nose, it takes days to multiply before it can reach the lungs where it may be deadly. This is enough time for the IgA and IgG to be mobilized.
Key point: The Vaccine triggers clot formation. The spike protein genes injected with the Covid-19 jabs circulate in the blood with some entering the cells lining the blood vessels. The cells begin to manufacture the spike proteins which can then protrude into the blood itself. Unfortunately, our body's defence system considers this to be an enemy invasion and may attack and kill our own blood vessels (vascular endothelium) which results in clot formation "which we know is happening all over the place". This explains some of the weird and even fatal secondary debilities elsewhere in the body. The initial landing of the virus in the nose and throat can spread and so can the initial landing of the supposedly harmless spikes in the vaccine.
Key point: The second jab is more dangerous than the first one. The second jab comes after enough time has passed for the body to manufacture type M immunoglogbulin too and the second jab raises antibody levels even higher at a time when blood cells have started expressing spikes they manufactured from the gene material in the first jab. This results in increased attack on the blood cells by all three kinds of antibodies as well as the lymphocytes and the leukocytes. This is something never seen before: both the anit-virus and anti-bacteria systems kick in with the ability to attack our own blood vessels.
Key point: Common flu viruses have a volatile gripping surface to catch onto our own cells and enter therein. The Covid-19 virus and variants have a relatively stable gripping surface which makes them easier to recognize. Old antibodies can generally attach to the new corona virus and plug its grip surface. Old antibodies to the common flu have a much more difficult time recognizing each season's variants.
Key point: He gives an understandable tour of the immune response system. If you're like me, you've been hearing stuff about the immune response but couldn't really explain it to someone else. A virus or bacterium arrives. If it's unfamiliar the IgM antibody system slowly kicks in, coming up to speed in about a month. If it's familiar, the IgA and IgG antibody systems quickly kick in. First the cell surface is protected. If however the cell is penetrated by virus, lymphocyte killer cells are called into service to consume the infected cell, virus and all. (Lymphocytes make up about a third of our white blood cells). If instead it's bacteria that have invaded, the antibodies clog up the gripping surfaces of the bacteria and the other type of killer blood cell is called into service. Leukocytes show up and consume the infected cells, bacteria and all.
His conclusion: "No one knows what the outcome will be but the vision is so awful, so terrifying, that I myself don't really want to know the answer."
A deeper dive into the science in this April 2021 paper records that the introduction of spike protein causes damage to the lining of the blood vessels (vascular endothelium) and to the lung. My friend Ian Nunn considers this a pivotal paper and considers the points above in harmony with that earlier paper.

How to push back against Vaccine passports: Well-written letter from Toronto librarians who are under attack.
This letter from Toronto librarians defends their liberty and privacy which are theirs by right and by law. It's addressed to the highly paid people at the top who worked from home and now are bullying the unvaccinated while dodging analysis and trashing people who have worked with passion through the covid pandemic.
"Toronto Public Library Censoring Library Workers:
We have chosen a career in libraries to make a positive difference in our communities.
We work passionately everyday to provide access to information, employment skills, language learning, literacy, connectedness, and an enjoyment of life.
We worked throughout the pandemic without a vaccine available, and continued to fulfill our role as community stewards by setting up food kitchens; calling isolated seniors to check in on them; providing stressed out parents with resources to help their children cope; and ensuring library users would have still have access to materials.
However the City Librarian Vickery Bowles, along with HR Director Brian Daly, and HR Manager Louise Reimer, and nine other directors*, who make up part of the top eleven earners of public funds in the system, and who have worked from home throughout the entire pandemic, are now threatening, bullying and intimidating us with discipline, up to and including dismissal, for not disclosing our medical records and/or not choosing to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Hundreds, if not thousands of us are now facing coercive policies that disregard foundational principles of library work, privacy and democracy.
Whale freakout - up close babysitting
Vancouver Island Whale Watch promised a free second trip if no whales showed up. I was chuckling at the deal I was getting, two zodiac ocean tours for the price of one. I had no idea what was coming next, a top moment of my life.
We babysat a humpback whale while it's mother dove deep five times for about a quarter hour each time. The baby "mugged us", splashed us on purpose, dove under the zodiac, circled and generally freaked us out wondrously. We felt we belonged there as much as the baby from the deep who played with us.

COVID LOCKDOWN: Possibly greatest peacetime failure in Canada's history.
SFU professor, David Allen, reviewed 80 papers in the lockdown literature.
You'd expect lockdowns and masks would have some clear benefit.
They don't. (Summary at The Epoch Times, here).
There is no net correlation between the measure taken and the cases of covid in the 80 papers.
He also makes a stab at a cost/benefit analysis, estimating years of lost life caused against years of life saved by those measures. Granted it's a very fuzzy number, but the first run through came up with over 200 to 1 times more evil done than good done. (A caveat is that in lockdown settings, some were cheating and in non-lockdown settings, some were complying with the intent anyway.).
Making this worse, he notes that research and opinion counter to the government narrative is suppresssed.
This cost/benefit effort has a key place in Canadian constitutional law. The constitution states: "The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guaramtees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribedby law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society" As Brian Peckford points out, until the cost benefit analyses have been done to demonstrate a justification for temporary abrogation of citizen rights, the statements of politicians and their staff about lockdowns are extra-legal. (Brian was premier of Newfoundland for 10 years and one of the original signatories of the Charter of Rights agreement with Justin's father, Pierre. He has a powerful site updated daily.)

Google is evil again: Climate orthodoxy is good. All else doxxed.
“Google and YouTube will soon prohibit advertisements on content that “contradicts well-established scientific consensus around the existence and causes of climate change,” Google announced Thursday. The decision will prevent the creators of such content from earning ad revenue from Google. ..
The advertisement ban, which will be implemented next month, targets “content referring to climate change as a hoax or a scam, claims denying that long-term trends show the global climate is warming, and claims denying that greenhouse gas emissions or human activity contribute to climate change,” Google said. The platforms will also ban ads that promote that type of content.”
What if China goes for the northern Phillipines instead of Taiwan first?
When the players don't play nice, expect shocks. Taiwan has 22 divisions for China to overcome whereas northern Phillipines (Luzon) does not. Either island mass, once captured, gives a defensible gateway to the open Pacific and the upper hand over Japan Suggested by Wretchard the Cat. (The redoubtable Richard Fernandez).
"If China wants to take over the Pacific its obvious goal will be to knock Japan out of the Quad. From a purely strategic point of view Japan, not Taiwan, is the crown jewel. How best to neutralize Japan? Control Luzon or Taiwan."

Having an intelligent conversation about covid stuff
Where to begin?
The epidemiological data are hopelessly confused by the huge number of CCP flu tests done for sometimes ridiculous reasons, the terrible accuracy of the tests themselves (is it CCP flu or is it Memorex?), the use of positive tests as an indicator of disease, the inaccurate reporting of deaths, and the general politicization of the entire issue.
How can a conversation begin when the proofs are padded with fluff and indifference.

Can I love my country but loathe our government? The bowling secret police trigger a succinct answer. "Give up your rights so you can get your rights back. That equation never made sense."
"I don't know what to do. The government has got me to the point where I question whether I even love my own country any more but one thing I know for certain, I loathe my government. What do you do?"
"Give up your rights so you can get your rights back. That equation never made sense."
This cry from the heart started at a bowling alley where an 18 year old kid played the role of the secret police, asking for the man's papers as he stood there with four kids who wanted to bowl on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
Is it just because I like to bowl too that this so strongly moved me?

Facebook down: 2 data points UPDATE
Data point 1: See chart for scope of Facebook outage.
Data point 2: Facebook employees not able to badge their way into their own building. This points to internal systems being down.
UPDATE: Doug Madory, director of internet analysis at the network monitoring company Kentik, said someone at Facebook caused an update to be made to the company’s BGP records, which resulted in the company’s system taking away the map telling the world’s computers how to find its various online properties. (Speculation follows: Malicious or accidental internal mayhem?)
What's next, world? The unexpected.
So many cans have been kicked down the road that the unexpected is becoming the most likely next event. As a pile of sand is built higher and higher, eventually a single grain of sand at an unpredicted location will trigger the landslide.
One of those kicked cans is massive public debt financed against the unborn's earning power. (Taxation without representation).
The focus on covid vaccinations will shift suddenly when "fuck Joe Biden"chants or indifference to health authorities or an attack on Taiwan or a supreme court ruling or a sudden change of rulers in the US tips the balance.
Or consequences of hacking FACEBOOK and friends? 1.5 billion customers' data on offer for $5000.
China wants U.S. out of play before tackling Taiwan. But it gets worse.
From Richard Fernandez:
(China) lacks the amphibious capacity to land the 30-plus brigades it will need to overcome the island’s defense. China does not appear to be currently investing in the equipment likely required for a direct assault on Taiwan. ..... to overcome 22 defending brigades, the buildup could not easily be concealed, and there should be no surprises. ... Beijing’s current naval build implies that the prerequisite for taking Taipei is neutralizing the U.S. navy. ... the CCP thinks Washington must “fall” before Taipei can be stormed. .. the key to encirclement’s success is Washington’s reaction. So, while 77 Chinese combat aircraft have provocatively intruded into Taiwan’s air defense identification zone, their real purpose is to beat like rain on the windows of the Oval Office to attract the attention of the man within. ....Looming large over the scene is the perception that China is becoming more dangerous because it is a declining power. As the American Enterprise Institute put it, based on a recent piece in Foreign Policy, “The United States needs to prepare for a major war, not because its rival is rising but because of the opposite.” ..
Alex Lo of the South China Morning Post poses the question: “Suppose both China and the US are in decline …? I ask our wise political scientists: if both superpowers are in decline or have peaked, are they more or less likely to go at each other’s throats? Well, judging by the aforementioned discussions, if both sides are in decline, wouldn’t both be the problem?
More significant detail and links are in the source article by Fernandez.
His "Wretchard the Cat" twitter feed is rewarding to follow also.
UPDATE: Over 150 military flights outside the 12 nautical miles line but within the Air Defense Identification zone have now taken place in October with 52 October 4th alone. 12 nautical miles is scarcely one minute of flying time for a warplane.
UPDATE: Chinese state media (Global TImes) call Taiwan "an evil force the mainland must crush" and defend the intrusions on Taiwanese air space as training to "familiarize itself with battlefield conditions".
UPDATE: Maybe Taiwan has nuclear weapons (neutron bombs). This hasn't been in the news but would give Xi pause.
Does Taiwan have nuclear weapons?
While Taiwan has pursued several programs to develop weapons of mass destruction, there has never been public acknowledgement the island nation has such devices. Reportedly, Taiwan began working to build a nuclear weapon after China’s first nuclear test in 1964. Though it reportedly produced plutonium for the program during the 1970s, the official story line is that U.S. ultimately pressured Taipei to officially halt the research in 1976. Other reports indicate nuclear research continued in secret into the 1980s.
Still, many believe Taiwan has quietly built a stockpile of tactical nuclear warheads that, if used, would give China serious pause and could help repel a People’s Liberation Army seaborne invasion. The late Sam Cohen, the father of the neutron bomb, told journalists that Taiwan had a stockpile of such weapons and that he had personally briefed the Taiwan military staff on their use. The neutron bomb, developed in the 1970s and 80s, is a controversial device that disperses massive amounts of radiation in a limited target area without the blast of a traditional weapon.

Peptide drops that replicate and sometimes concentrate nucleic acids: Missing link in evolution of life on earth
Vaccine not working as advertised. Or is it worse than that?
Senator Kennedy is making political points today but is he wrong?
The chart is what it is.
The three observations are what they are.
The unavoidable conclusion: The vaccine is somewhat ineffective against a virus that keeps redesigning itself to get past the things that are trying to kill it.
The avoidable conclusion but one that can't be fully ruled out: The vaccines are promoting the development of hardier viruses which results in additional illness and additional death.
Link here:
The three points: The population is over 60% vaccinated. Deaths had dropped significantly before the vaccine was introduced. Cases and deaths have surged since the introduction of the vaccine.
Remember, CDC just sneak-edited the definition of "Vaccine". Formerly a vaccine stimulated the immune system to develop immunity. Now it just stimulates the immune system.

'The first rule of political sexuality' applies to Canada's 2021 election
"The Conservative philosophy is to “‘hunt where the ducks are,’ which is to say, tack ever further to the left.” The result is no duck for dinner. In shunting a traditionally right-of-center party into the left’s impregnable bailiwick in an effort to pilfer votes, O’Toole ensured his party’s defeat. He never understood the first rule of political sexuality, that that you must first love your own before attempting to seduce your adversaries.
(Trudeau)was re-elected, an event that could be viewed not only as a political farce but equally as a withering indictment of an irresponsible and profoundly myopic electorate."

Codevilla on war and international affairs: Groups are who they are, want what they want, and do what they do.
From "Advice to War Presidents" by Angelo Codevilla who passed away this week:
"This book .. looks at international affairs as the interaction of individuals and groups
who are what they are, want what they want, and do what they do.
It is about the consequences of forgetting common-sense definitions:
that diplomacy is mere communication,
that international intercourse requires a positive imbalance of means over ends,
that allies are available in inverse proportion to the need for them,
and that war is the avenue to peace via the gateway of the enemy's death or submission."
"No amount of wishing can
abstract from fact that we are one variety or another of Sinotic or North African or Negroid or European,
or break the molds in which our civilizations cast us,
cancel the categories that our relgions have stamped on our minds,
make tasteful the things that have revolted us since childhood,
lessen our tribal averisons and affections,
or reduce the relevance of the regimes in which we live.
Our statesmen deny the relevance of diffferences - of other people's loves and hates, calcualations and intrigues - treating all as if they were not foreign at all."

"Leveraging the advantages of our sex differences".
Today's quote:
"The modern world is out of sync with our ancient brains and bodies. We evolved to live in clans, but today most people don't even know their neighbors' names. Survival in our earliest societies depended on leveraging the advantages of our sex differences, but today even the concept of biological sex is increasingly dismissed as offensive. The cognitive dissonance spawned by trying to live in a society we're not built for is killing us."
My underline there. I'd rewrite the last sentence: "Cognitive dissonance is spawned by trying to live in a society we're not built for.". A source for sex-behavioural-differences-as-specialization-for-evolutionary-advantage is the linked book.
CDC data (attached) show Covid deaths are almost off the radar.
CDC's own data shows that actual deaths from Covid-19 have dropped so low they are almost off the radar.
Vaccine fascism: "A symbiosis between political power and corporate enterprise."
Some choice words are printed here from columnist David Solway. Read his colunn for the rest.
A program for "removing pollution from the social body" is"shrewdly conscripting a public that wishes above everything to belong to a pervasive consensus while consigning a portion of the population to a social leprosarium"
When politicians get a savor of unlimited and incontestable power, most cannot withstand the allure. It is the devil’s offer to Christ on the domestic plane, and they have neither the character nor the moral fortitude to resist the temptation. The state then proceeds to forge an alliance with the corporate world to enhance its control of the public atrium, knowing that corporations will assist the government in refusing service to medical dissidents. Given the symbiosis between political power and corporate enterprise, we have the core definition of fascism. The issue is complex and hotly contested, but state corporatism remains the crux and organizing principle of the movement
The next crisis will be a surprise until it becomes obvious: 7 financial shocks that are probably in the pipeline now.
Here's the summary from Law& Liberty
1 What nobody sees coming
2 A purely malicious macro-hack of the financial system.
3 All the central banks get it wrong together
4 A housing collapse again
5 An electricity system failure
6 The next pandemic
7 A major war
Those are the headings. A quick read at the link fills in the detail.
Of course these are coming and of course there will be some more major wars.

About half the Covid-19 hospital beds are filled with people who aren't sick with Covid-19
Doctors reviewed hospital admission data for Covid-19. 40 to 45% of the patients were not admitted because of the virus and were not treated for the virus either. The admission data referencing the virus meant their immune systems had encountered the Covid-19 virus, not that they were in a hospital bed because of it. Did you read that hospitals in the US are now getting only $40,000 top-up federal aid per patient identified with traces of Covid-19?
If there were fewer lies and less wilful fudging of data, I'd find it easier to respect 'experts'.
ADDED
The data is from a joint study of the Harvard Medical School, Tufts Medical Center and Veteran Affairs.
The study analyzed the electronic records for nearly 50,000 COVID hospital admissions from VA hospitals nationwide. According to The Atlantic, the authors then “checked to see whether each patient required supplemental oxygen or had a blood oxygen level below 94 percent. [The latter criterion is based on the National Institutes of Health definition of ‘severe COVID.’] If either of these conditions was met, the authors classified that patient as having moderate to severe disease; otherwise, the case was considered mild or asymptomatic.”
Protofascists with liberal lipstick
"A great many “liberals” are in fact proto-fascists who derive an unseemly satisfaction from bossing the rest of us around through “emergency” decrees" John Hinderaker
The era of covid hysteria has been clarifying in some respects. We have learned that a great many “liberals” are in fact proto-fascists who derive an unseemly satisfaction from bossing the rest of us around through “emergency” decrees–a classic fascist tactic, especially when the alleged emergency is a respiratory virus with something like a 99.8% survival rate.
Open letter to Dr Henry and the rest from Okanagan physicians: Detailed refutation of Covid Policy.
Here's the link. It's long because the facts that ought to prevail are many.
The authors highlight fatal defects in testing and thoughout the reporting domain for Covid. They link to Bonnie Henry's own testimony in 2015 that masking is of doubtful benefit. Treatments for the unhospitalized are overlooked and general measures to stay healthy are not publicized. Sadly there is much more, all of it documented. Division is provoked while foundational research data for BC policy is not on offer or may not exist.
Counterintuitive: The direct route may screw you.
Video shows how breaking a single desirable pathway can sometimes increase the overall throughput of the roadways or system. This applies when the break produces parallel routes instead of allowing an inline route. The direct path is only fastest when demand is low. Unless the parallel choice is forced, it won't be taken. Government becoming an App
Have you a vaccine passport? Welcome to the mandatory government app to which all manner of goodies will be added. This includes your social goodness score, your passport i.d., your tax collection, your reminders and slaps on the wrist, restrictions on your driving freedomes, you name it. No one needs to implant a chip in your forehead since we buy our own cell phones and hook them up to the beast. The "Beast" is the government and social media giants and big Biz who are competing currently to be top dogs in owning your data and mine.

We're mother earth's drones. Trees and fruit flies work with quantum mechanics and photoelectricity too. What's our edge?
Bugs fly about solving three body physics problems, dealing with momentum and acceleration and electronic signal processing. This happens in their tiny brains and at the cellular level too. Everything alive including ourselves is doing this and more, long before speech, writing and the iPhone. What edge do we have?
Have we an edge? Our progress is a clever re-embed of what's baked into all life. Earth has produced us and the inner science native to all creatures is being outered (uttered) by the recent human innovations. Inner science and math is replicated outside of bodies in long-lasting, transmissable form, very survivable and easy to multiply. (Right click, copy, paste, send). It impresses the heck out of us, to admire our progress. Instead, view it as a clever re-embed of what's already baked into every living thing, conferring survivability and opening a path to the stars. It's mother earth that's preparing for space travel. We are her drones. The Covid battle for power isn't about a virus
The accelerating authoritiansim isn't about COVID.
It's the latest battlefield in a new war for control.
Cheap everywhere data has made the divisions of power in our society obsolete.
The political and ecoomic barnyard pecking order has been scrambled.
Power brokers emerge suddenly in academia, bureaucracies, music and film, talk shows, influencers with thousands and millions of followers and sometimes just people in the street who speak up. All of this is at trifling cost, thanks to cheap fast data. If our fellow citizens don't speak up, we'll be collateral damage in the multi-polar struggle to own the new power. The new power of cheap fast data is a force multiplier. It also shortens the (OODA) loop of action and consequence so that an institution that relies on elections every four years can be outmanoeuvered by unelected players within and without the institution and also by players in other lands.
COVID is well-suited to be a battle zone as it exploits fear, health, and the grey zone where we have trouble drawing the line between what's good for the community and what's good for us and our own. It builds on safetyism and deference to experts which has replaced deference to chieftains. Think about it: Fauci (US) ,Tam (Canada) and Henry (BC) are career bureaucrats with health credentials and their voice, not that of generals and presidents are the loudest.
The scary new feature is the power of our fellow citizens to reinforce authoritarian choices by others, excommunicating neighbours over masks and the difference between two and three and four jabs. It does not yet appear what groups and alignments will prevail but much more than battles over vaccination passports will come upon us soon.

Starlink: What isn't amazing?
How do you place thousands of satellites in orbit
that can all manoeuver themselves
that each has a different freqnecy to avoid interference
that are constantly moving in groups in and out of the user's field
that have a signal latency almost 100x less than the geostationary comm satellites
that are put in orbit with new designs almost every launch
that all stay up to date on the same software
with critical functions stored in the same memory sector
that survive radiation damage to data
that go through quality control feedback loops at every step
that integrate software code writing with design and launch
that are night and day modelling not just the parts but the whole system in boxed versions
that include a model of near earth space-time
and that constantly reconfigure the flying network to match changing conversation paths on earth.
